Helen Baylor Gospel Music Review

Helen Baylor released her first gospel album in 1990, which reached the U.S. Billboard Top Gospel Album Chart. In 2011 Ms. Baylor co-produced an autobiography of her life on film, which was her testimony "The Helen Baylor Story." In the late 1980s Helen was on drugs, and then she became sober and put her focus on making her gospel music recordings.

I first starting listening to Helen's gospel music in the 1990s, I use to play her music on the cassette player in my car in the 90s. My uncle Jesse heard the song in my car "Lifting up the Name of Jesus" my uncle was feeling this song, because he been through drug abuse in his life just as Helen. My uncle asked me if this was a gospel song, and I told him yes it is, he said he mind listening to this style of gospel music. He liked the lyrics to this particular song, and I'm so glad that he did.  (May my Uncle Jesse rest-in-piece, I love you)
